You should have gotten here from Paula's Blog (the other Paula)
If you are a regular follower of mine, the hop starts over at Amber's Blog.
One of our last acts being on the current Crop Chocolate Design Team is helping everyone with their organization! There have been many a cry "HELP, I'm drowning in my stuff and don't know what to do with it any more"! Relax, we're here to help :-) I've posted before my overall room (click HERE to see previous post) and I'm sick of doing that, so this time I'm taking the "in depth" approach, little snippets of my room... here we go:
This is my secondary ribbon spool storage, for those "overflow" rolls that don't fit on my main ribbon spool that my sweetheart made me (click HERE to see, it's completely full now). I put a large black clippie on the bottom of the white roll of ribbon onto a dowel rod and just lean it against the back of the door frame that goes to the living room (glass french doors separate my room ).
Next comes a re-purposed floral vase I
received years ago that I keep my KaiserColour paints in. It's the perfect size for the 6 I have.
Loose Ribbon storage is handled using wood spools I purchased from RibbonCarrousel then stored them on a plain old wood spool storage thingy from JoAnn's. These large spools are metal (don't you just LOVE them) I got from Sign Sealed Delivered Annex in Springdale, Arkansas. They make a huge impact yet are practical too... just how I like my stuff to be!
This is my card blank/envelope storage plus a few miscellaneous items too, I've labeled those that aren't obvious. The little white drawer thing is just from Wal-Mart & holds small note card/envelope blanks.
a small wood corner shelf holds Smooch & Tattered Angels.... sprays, glazes, glams. Other sprays are stored elsewhere but these are my latest & greatest so I have them out & handy to grab off the wall.
Sister Design Team Member, Corrie, created a great tutorial HERE to create this great holder for our Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I have room to add another row to one end still so I have room to grow by 10 more pads!
On the other shelf, I have all my TH Color Wash Sprays & Distress Stains along with a couple of TH crackle paints.
This is all of my twine from The Twinery along with new zip top baggies from Crop Chocolate for my small color coded items. It looks messy but it's so easy to find what I'm looking for & sometimes trip over another item to use... I love cheap curtain rods! This area will continually change to meet my needs & what supplies I have.
Now for the Messy Area:
This wire cube shelving system is going to be replaced when my handy hubby gets around to building the new wood shelf I've designed.... hopefully sometime during 2012 I'll have an update on this for youNow you're off to see what Beth has in her space!

I love all the wall storage! And for the blog candy...gently used stamps :-) You know where to find me on CC! (not sure why it shows dmack7 as a follower and not paperdoll.
ReplyDeleteWow - soooo cool, love the ribbon holders and the storage shelves!! I am now a follower. love the gently used stamps!! I LOVE that "P" too!! very nice!!
ReplyDeleteLove that everything is out and ready to use, yet organized and displayed in such a way that, for me, it almost works as decor in the space. I too love the ribbon dowel idea - pretty, portable, and accessible! The gently used stamps are so cute. You can find me on CC - really enjoyed your DT projects :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the embellishments in clear bags easily visable! Paper Mishmash. mlakely@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm doing this hop, you never know what you'll learn, and I was looking for wooden spools. Thanks for saying where you got them! I'm a follower, I like the stamps and I really like how you store your ribbon, but I'd like to know how you keep the ends so neat.
ReplyDelete(4myk9s on CC)
I uses straight pins on my ribbons with the colored ball on the end of them. it does leave a tiny hole in the ribbon but you can't really see the hole when you're using it, normally the hole completely disappears! Occasionally I do get poked but for the neatness factor, it's worth it ;-)
DeleteHoly smokes, Paula! Once again, you amaze me with how awesome you are - I *love* how organized you are! My favorite part is your loose ribbon storage (how cute and colorful!) although I'm definitely going to adopt your card storage idea (I'm always hunting for my blank cards/envelopes). Great idea about the twine, too! I am a follower! I like gently used stamps better because you can use them over and over and over... :) You can contact me through my blog symbol or at CC (Chocolatier Miwa). I am curious, though, to know what your curtain rods (with the twine rolls) are hanging on - a wall? in the closet? Thanks for the tour! :)
ReplyDeletethe walls in my room are navy (I don't have a closet because this is really the office) and my curtains are lime. The curtain rods are hung on a wall next to the window and about 6" of the rod extends over the window
DeleteI love your little shelf for inks (and want all your inks!!) I like paper MishMash. My email address is karey2005@sbcglobal.net)
ReplyDeleteI love all your ink shelfs and your ribbon spools!
ReplyDeletePaper MishMash :)
Paula...I love that your space is an ACTUAL room, and that it's close to your living room, so you're not completely cut off when you're crafting!! My favorite organizational part of your room is your DH's shelves for paper, but feasibly for me I LOVE the twinery spools on the curtain rods...and w/ the clip-it-ups in between is it's own little bit of genius! ;) I love the stamps...those are JustRite, aren't they? I actually don't own any of those! You can always catch me on CC...SharonDoesBaskets! :) Thanks, Paula!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the loose ribbon storage. I have a bunch of old spools that are just waiting for me to do something with and you've given me a great idea. Thanks for sharing your space with us time and time again. I just love it. As for the blog candy . . . gently used stamps. :) It's Clayton528 on CC . . . it shows me as clayton528 as a follower instead of Katherine Clayton, not sure why (I've noticed this on other blogs, too.) Thanks again!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Paula. I am a follower. I love your whole room! Yours was one of the first blogs that I wandered to after joining CC because of a comment that you left about the storage creation for your pens and I was in awe of your scrappy space! Since I have to chose, I like your shelves with your inks, washes and mists displayed and within reach, but off of your workspace. I will definitely have to do something similar once I get things cleaned up around here. I am a visual person-if it is not within sight, I forget about it! I would chose the gently used stamps if I am so lucky to win.
ReplyDeleteYou can PM me on CC
Thanks for all of your ideas!
