Celebrating Fall

oh Fall... so much beauty wherever you look!
of course {for me} because I live in the woods so it's completely amazing when the leaves start to turn, then when they fall and cover the drive and roads and the floor of the woods... ahhhh.
Then once they've fallen, I can once again see the sunrise from my bedroom window!

Well, if you came here from the Mountain Plains Crafters blog,

you've already seen this first creation

to thine own self be true

Shakespeare knew what he was talking about with that one
Take this morning, my 16 yo isn't feel well & running a temp
and while I know we would much rather be at church,
the two of us opted to stay home while the hubby & 13 yo went without us.
Right this second, my big boy is snoring on the sofa.
Poor Guy!

I used both the Photo Inspiration & the Sketch
for my inspiration on this one,
but didn't take either very seriously
more like a loose guideline

Hydrangea Memories

When I was a kid I had a Great Great Aunt Leila
She was amazing.
She raised 3 generations of our family yet never had her own children.
She made a mixed berry jelly - I called it Leilaberry
After that the whole family called it Leilaberry
She raised all the fruit in her own yard.
She also had flowers, lots of them.
I was thinking of her while creating this flower.

Wish(ing you a Happy Birthday)

My mom's birthday was yesterday
so I called her fairly early in the day to say
Happy Happy Birthday To You
and she was thrilled!
Told her I'd love to see her but she said she was busy
with work yesterday & today with cleaning her office.
Then she called back last night & said Yes
Yes she could skip out on the cleaning & be here for breakfast today
it's still pretty early....
I'm still waiting for her to show....
I've made breakfast...

Evolution of a Card (lots of pictures)

playing with Unity Stamp Co.'s
Monthly Color Challenge go me all kinds of inky
and I LOVE it!

I went thru so many trys on this card until I finally got one I was happy with
then I looked back and thought
none are actually terrible
so I'll show the world
Card #1 using an UmWow Studio Mask

Card #2 I  attempted with a dry paint brush on ink pads

Card #3 I used a dry toothbrush

Card #4 I used Tim Holtz Color Wash but didn't spray, I splattered

Card #5 I splattered Tattered Angels Glammer Glaze (I like the texture on this one)
Card #6 This is the mask I made to use when splattering or spraying
Card #7 is my very favorite card.  I think this is what I was really going for except the sentiment is off a bit but I can live with that.
So which is your favorite?
