Cardabilities May 30th Design

I'm just hanging out in the after a very nice visit with my dad Richard & step-mom Becky at their house this weekend. We drove down Friday night, spent Saturday at Horsehead Lake, the boys swimming & hanging out, Ron & Dad fishing out of the little fishing boat they have, and me... oh, just sunburning... it's what I do. When we got home today, we found tons of ants had invaded our laundry room. The boys loaded up the shoes into boxes, I vac'd out the yuck and Ron sprayed it down. I got scared that Gigi (our devil kitty) would get into the ant killer so he & I decided to make a trip to the attic to do a little card making. Here's my first making of the day:

Here's the Cardabilities sketch:

Printed Paper: Basic Grey Euphoria; Pink Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Bling; Sparkly Pink Cardstock; Clear & Floral Overlay: MM Noteworthy; flowers: Prima; misc sparkly brad

OCC Weekly Sketch #16

I found another Challenge but this one is a sketch. I liked the sketch so much that I just couldn't resist. Our Creative Corner OCCSC#16
But I couldn't do just one card...
I had to do two!
I won this paper at Kansas City's Creating Keepsakes Convention in 2009 and never used this paper. I had won more than my share, so I split this pack with my bff, Tricia :-) This is the first time I'd even cut into one single piece!

FREE TREES!!!!

Most of you know that I'm a tree hugger at heart... I love my trees, I love all trees. They do so much for us and don't ask for much in return... except to be planted. Well, here's your chance to get money for trees to be planted FREE in the state of your choosing! Of course, I've already used my vote & planted it right here in Arkansas but you can choose your own state if you would like. For my Canadian friends, please consider choosing Arkansas since you heard it from me :-)

Just click on the tree at the top of this post & follow the directions! It'll help us all breath a little easier :-)

Friday/Saturday Fun Time

*It's amazing the things we find growing in the woods behind our house. These mushrooms were growing out of the hillside right outside our back door. I was amazed at how large they were. Our land is wooded so not much sun gets through to the floor due to the thick canopy.

*My big guy doing one of his favorite things... Guitar Hero! But this day was special as Dad had made a mic stand for him so he could not only the guitar but sing too. Dad Rocks but Van does it louder!
Paper: CTMH You Rock; brads from Oriental Trading Post; Bottle Cap letters-Spare Parts; words, star & guitar - Cricut with Gypsy and Indie Art Cartridge; film strip & large bottle cap-misc.; Stickles

Now I'm off to do yard work, doesn't that sound fun... it's only 83 degrees!

Gypsy!

My first items cut using the Gypsy!
And, of course, I had to dress them up for use on my page:
This Gypsy makes me wanna dance in a long flowy skirt! Now I'm off to put my carts on it, I know I know once you do that it's the only Gypsy they can go on... I think I'm good with that, so much less to haul to crops! WAHOO

Left Album paper-CTMH Grace, Middle Album paper-Basic Grey Romani Dali; Right Album paper-My Mind’s Eye Kaleidoscope; Stickles in various colors; Pink, Green & Clear round rhinestones-Heidi Swapp; Yellow rhinestones-Kaiser; misc pearls

Each book measures 10" x 7" and contains enough pages to make a dozen layouts with a hard back.

Hope you like them as much as I did!

A little instructions: use a Cricut Expressions with deep blade & Indie Art cartridge; cut file folder in half along the bend; insert one half of folder into machine on mat; select the butterfly & fit to page, note max size & round DOWN to nearest whole inch; set cut size to that whoe inch number for all of your cuts, this way they will all be the same; cut number of file folders as you would like pages in your book, you are only limited to the size of the rings you get to hold it together; there you go, that's the basic book. Since I was giving these to friends as gifts, I went ahead & decorated just the front cover for them, they can do the inside of the book how they want it to be
