Christmas in July!

From the Our Creative Corner Design Team Member Lori Rider, comes "What Not To Stamp" card makeover challenge!

I had a very hard time choosing what card to make over but I finally settled on this one, the BEFORE:

I really didn't like this paper (then why did you buy it, you ask... I'm clueless there) and the center focus item just gets lost... too small, too blah

ahhhh... the AFTER.... so pretty!

Printed Paper - October Afternoon

Cardstock - Olive & Citrus Leaf

Distressing Ink - Tim Holtz Forest Moss & Festive Berries

Stamp Set - Basic Grey

Today I took the current Deconstructed Sketch No. 61 & modified it into the left side of a 8x8 double layout, that's how much I like it!

Outdoors Birthday

I got this Sketch from Pretty Little Studios but then flipped it sideways

My younger son's birthday always falls during Spring Break. Do you know how hard it is to have a birthday party during Spring Break?  We gave up years ago, too many no-shows and started letting him pick what he wanted to do for his birthday... CAMPING!  always the same answer... he's easy

Altered Art Fun

My niece Autumn is here for the week & of course, we have to get our craft on!  Today was making a little crayon art on canvas, plus painting a little wood birdhouse and making this in-a-former-life-I-was-a-pizza-pan gift for her older sister who just moved away from home :-(  I know Autumn is going to miss Karya like crazy but she's trying to also be supportive, she's already been thru the mad stage I think.  This is her loving gift to Karya.  I think she did a great job, ok I did most of the labor but 80% of the artistic goes to her... it's so bright & cheery how can you not smile when looking at it.

Another  in-a-former-life-I-was-a-... project was known as a cookie sheet.  one of my besties youngest child & her husband just bought their very first house!  I was so excited for them, I wanted to make a gift... Their last name is Wilson & the paper has little words of gratitude and love printed all over them.  Plus blue is a favorite color of theirs so this was a no-brainer for them.

I received a forwarded text earlier today with the words "I love it" so I think this is one very successful gift!

She even bought paint for their living room that coordinates with it

6x6 Paper Pad Storage Tutorial

This is my newly revamped 6x6 paper storage... I think it looks a thousand times better so I thought some of you might like a little tutorial on how to make these boxes (except the far left yellow box which is just a Kleenex box wrapped in paper for all those MME Titles & Sayings I have acquired)

1. Trim a Heavy 12x12 Cardstock sheet down to 12x10

2. along the 12" sides, score at 2" & 8" (or 2" on both sides)

3. along the 5" sides, score at 5" & 7" ( or 5" on both sides).

After scoring you should have a non-scored area of 6"x2" in the center of the cardstock

4. using scissors or timmer, cut along two sides of 2"x2" square that is centered on both sides... DO NOT REMOVE, leave attached adjacent to centered 6"x2" piece

5. add adhesive to outside of one 6"x2" & 2"x2"flaps, plus on inside of the other 6"x2" flap.  Stand up 6"x2" with adhesive on outside in first, stamp up 2"x2" flap & attach to first 6"x2", the stand up other 6"x2" flap (the one with adhesive on inside) and attach to other two.  Repeat on other side of box.

TaDah, here is your finished box.  I sort my 6x6 page by manufacturer because I normally know what I want to use.
