ADORNit - faith

All these wonderful ADORNit Art Play Paintables images were created by
Lindsay Ostrom and I'd like to give her a big Congrats on a job well done!

This image came from Art Play Printables - Home

I had really already created everything I was going to create for this blog hop
{since I got the flu and was out of commission for 3 days}
but today I started feeling better & better as the day progressed so I thought I'd sit in my craft room.
Well once you're sitting in your craft room, you may as well make something.
I glance around and spy this 5x7 frame hanging empty on the side of a bookcase.
Obviously that needs to change & today was that day.

For the 5x7 base piece I chose Mint Damask from ADORNit's Blender Basics
I colored in the Art Play Paintable Home using Faber-Castell Gelatos
For the clouds I outlined them using Liquid Pearls in White Opal, then
using my paintbrush, I filled the interior of the clouds with the Liquid Pearls.
On the starts, I filled them all in using stickles in Star Dust.
Roses were all cut on Cricut using the Close To My Heart Cartridge Art Philosophy from the Pink Pixie Dots, Pink Chevron & Beige Pixie Dots (colored those using Gelatos in Metallic Melon)
Green vine is from May Arts

Birthdays Birthdays Birthdays

This morning I asked my mom if she needed me to make anything (paper wise) for her. She requested 3 birthday cards for various nieces that have either just had or are getting ready to have birthdays.
My first banner card. Obviously I have a spacing problem which I thought I'd pre-planned to avoid but apparently you should use repositionable glue dots when doing this. I don't think Brooklyn will have a problem with it. Mom mentioned turquoise & orange. This is her 11th birday card from my mom:
My step-sister, Rita, has a step-daughter that just turned 15. Mom said she likes blue & purple, so here's Ashley's card:
And last but not least is Rita's baby girl, ok so she's not really a baby any more. Mom said pink & girly. I hope Laura likes this one:
I had a lot of fun with these girls all being so very different.

Brooklyn's banner card is made from the Making Memories Whimsy Paper kit along with some Creative Memories alpha stickers and sequin flowers from Portafolia and Crystal Stickles.

Ashley's Cake card is made from Basic Grey Euphoria 6x6 paper pad; White cardstock from CTMH; Piece of Cake stamp set & all ink-CTMH; Crystal Stickles.

Laura's Flower Card is made from CTMH cardstocks, ribbon, ink, rhinestone flowers, green brads & Tickled Pink Paper; felt pink brad & bee brad from Sassafras; Crystal Stickles.

All three of these are a part of the No Paper Buying Challenge. For more details on the challenge, please see my blog post from Aug. 1

Friday/Saturday Fun Time

*It's amazing the things we find growing in the woods behind our house. These mushrooms were growing out of the hillside right outside our back door. I was amazed at how large they were. Our land is wooded so not much sun gets through to the floor due to the thick canopy.
Papers & Stamps: CTMH Twitterpated, CTMH waxy flax, Ink: CTMH Sorbet, Chocolate, Bamboo; twine from Hobby Lobby; brads from Oriental Trading Post; Stickles

*My big guy doing one of his favorite things... Guitar Hero! But this day was special as Dad had made a mic stand for him so he could not only the guitar but sing too. Dad Rocks but Van does it louder!
Paper: CTMH You Rock; brads from Oriental Trading Post; Bottle Cap letters-Spare Parts; words, star & guitar - Cricut with Gypsy and Indie Art Cartridge; film strip & large bottle cap-misc.; Stickles

Now I'm off to do yard work, doesn't that sound fun... it's only 83 degrees!

Butterfly Albums

My friend, Wendy, and I spent Friday night making these albums out of old file folders from her office that were no longer needed.

Butterfly albums: Cricut Cartridge-Indie Art

Left Album paper-CTMH Grace, Middle Album paper-Basic Grey Romani Dali; Right Album paper

Left Album paper-CTMH Grace, Middle Album paper-Basic Grey Romani Dali; Right Album paper-My Mind’s Eye Kaleidoscope; Stickles in various colors; Pink, Green & Clear round rhinestones-Heidi Swapp; Yellow rhinestones-Kaiser; misc pearls

Each book measures 10" x 7" and contains enough pages to make a dozen layouts with a hard back.

Hope you like them as much as I did!

A little instructions: use a Cricut Expressions with deep blade & Indie Art cartridge; cut file folder in half along the bend; insert one half of folder into machine on mat; select the butterfly & fit to page, note max size & round DOWN to nearest whole inch; set cut size to that whoe inch number for all of your cuts, this way they will all be the same; cut number of file folders as you would like pages in your book, you are only limited to the size of the rings you get to hold it together; there you go, that's the basic book. Since I was giving these to friends as gifts, I went ahead & decorated just the front cover for them, they can do the inside of the book how they want it to be

PPC-CC#12

Quick post of this week's color combo from Picture Perfect Creations:
Here's my card:
Layers of Color Stamp Set-Joyful Noise (butterfly); CTMH Stamp Set-FriendShip Blessings, Stamp Pad Colors-Plum, Vineyard Berry, Juniper & Chocolate, Cardstock-Juniper; Stickles & Dew Drops
I have a blow-up of the butterfly at home, but unfortunately I'm at work at the moment... I'd rather be home playing with ink ;-) I will try to post it tonight, hopefully I'll have time for that as we have our second school band concert for my oldest son. Nothing like the tuba!
