Tonight is a card making marathon for me

since we're getting snow & really cold temps, I have nothing else to do

a real tragedy, I tell ya ;-)

I started flipping thru my favorite challenge sites & found this great challenge from

I found it interesting so I had to play along!

here's my creation

the colored part is Gelatos in Metallic Mint

which I sprayed with water until it dripped

once the Gelatos were dry, I stamped this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co

using StazOn in Black

Hydrangea Memories

When I was a kid I had a Great Great Aunt Leila

She was amazing.

She raised 3 generations of our family yet never had her own children.

She made a mixed berry jelly - I called it Leilaberry

After that the whole family called it Leilaberry

She raised all the fruit in her own yard.

She also had flowers, lots of them.

I was thinking of her while creating this flower.

I have been trying to spend a little more time in my crafty room

crafting

you see, up to two days ago I was doing contract work

from my craft room

but I quit!  yes I sure did

and I'm oh so happy about it

Strength

this card truly just came together & I am super pleased with the outcome!

I started out using CAS#78 but I'm not sure if you can still tell or not as I moved the sentiment and added the wide ribbon, but it's there.... I promise!

I actually started out with a piece of white cardstock, added some Tim Holtz Inks: Pumice Stone & Rusty Hinge from the ink pads then dripped on, sprayed it pretty heavily with water and smacked it a few more times with the Rusty Hinge ink pad

Next I stamped Unity Stamp Co.'s LOL Spring Inspired

Then stamped Unity Stamp Co.'s Donna Downey Imageine It Largest Flourish

Both using using TH Scattered Straw ink pad

After that I stamped the next to smallest flower from Unity Stamp Co.'s Mega Blooms

with ColorBox in Black then partially Clear Embossed

Followed up by taking the Prima Distressing Tool to the front & roughing it up just a bit

Sentiment is Unity Stamp Co.'s Donna Downey Empowered Words

with Memento Tuxedo Black

Added that wide gorgeous ribbon (I've forgotten where it came from)

ok so I'm just gonna say it... I love how my card turned out!  I do, it's pretty darn simple and oh so sweet

ok Mother Nature, take it elsewhere!  You know like the ski slopes or even just further up north where they have the road equipment to deal with this white stuff.. alright, nuff of the whining... time to put on my flannel big girl panties & just craft!

No Printed Paper! For the background I used light pink, hot pink & red on my Gelli Pad and blended them with a feathery paintbrush, the added a bit of Gesso to my large Unity Stamp called "Dinged Dots" stamped onto my Gelli Pad then with what was left over, stamped this background.  You'll see those other uses from this technique later in the day (hopefully).

Added two different Washi Tapes

Painted a Large UmWowStudio Heart Chippie with the same Red Paint

You and Me stamp is a part of CloseToMyHeart Soul Mates set embossed in white

and a tiny bit of Grey Paper Frills from Doodle Pantry



I also lined the inside of the card and used an old Creative Memories punch to dress-up the inside just a little bit.
