My HERO, my Grandma Billie (PPC-CC11)

This week's Picture Perfect Creation (Color Combo 11) got a special spotlight place in my heart once I started working on my layout. This week I choose to do another scrapbook layout but with a very old picture. This picture was taken in the late 40's of my Grandma with a very young Aunt Sarah. Here's my layout:
The journaling reads "Grandma had Lupus. Married to a farmer, they could not afford her care... expecially with three small children. She gave herself to medical research in hopes of a longer life. She died when my mom was 9. Herself not yet 30." Needless to say, I never met my Grandma Billie, but her memory lives on with the stories my mom & Aunt have told me. Everything from the day to day living on a farm to shooting the goat off her car; I've inherited the shotgun.

Here's this week's official color combo from Megan:

If you don't have SU! colors, use what you have that is close... that's what I did!

Most of the products use on my page this week are from a Scarlet Lime monthly kit. Enjoy!
