Happy Father's Day

Welcome to the Mountain Plains Crafters celebration honoring Father's Day!

This year I'm celebrating big....

no not my biological dad

no not my adoptive dad

no not even my husband

My Brother!

You see my niece, Autumn, and two of her school-mates (all in the 7th grade when this occurred) did a National History Day presentation & won locally so they advanced to state!

Then at state, the did so well that advanced to nationals!

On June 12th, my brother will be borrowing my car to drive to Maryland for the competition, he's doing it up big, visiting his friends (aka free lodging) along the way. I'll get to see him {and my car} again on Father's Day

I am so proud of the dad he is!

GIU 2015 - Day 2

As elaborate as my creation yesterday was

today's is that simple.

You see... my younger son is going to Italy for the

World TaeKwon-Do Championships

and that means fund raising, lots & lots of fund raising.

So I've been making lots & lots of Thank You cards

I decided early on to keep them fairly simple

just for the sake of my time and my sanity. lol

Of course, the stamps are from Unity Stamp Company

being kind Strengthens others and Kindness Matters

Using FPD Nautical papers & embellishments

I created this fun 5x7 card

just the perfect size to send a grandma some vacay pics in

(nope we haven't been away but ya never know!)

I added a little bit of twine from The Twinery for those little finishing touches

and a bit of metallic paper to act as a mirror

The current sketch from Seize the Sketch #19 is great for those little pieces of paper left over in the bottom of your storage baggies (ok well, I keep my 6x6 pads in Quart size zip-top baggies)

No stamping or inking of any kind today, instead
