coffee dreams

I'm still making creations for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

this one I drew by hand using a Sharpie for the coffee mug

my friend & sister Design Team Members {Mountain Plains Crafters}
MariLynn
does these cute little flip books
the pages measure 2"x2.5" and she decorates them up so cute
this is my first one that I've head drawn, all others I just stamped

colored using Copic Markers for the coffee
Sakura Glaze white pen
Gelatos for the background
Creative Memories marker for the title

*Pink*

Everybody who follows me regularly knows how much I enjoy playing along with challenges
well today, I ran across a Mixed Media Challenge called
Mixed Media Monthly Challenge {Facebook}
or Mixed Media Monthly Challenge {blog}
who for February has a challenge of PINK
which IS a challenge for me because I am completely not a pink girl
but I gave it the old challenge try

I chose to use my Art Journal for this Pink explosion

Big Chevron - Stencil from Wal-Mart in the paint department
Little Chevron - UmWow Studio Chevron Mask
Flower Petal Stencil - The Crafters Workshop
Miscellaneous Acrylic Paints
Large Floral Stamp - Unity Stamp Co. Mega Blooms
Butterfly - Unity Stamp Co. SMAK Trust Your Soul
Sentiment - Unity Stamp Co. SMAK (life is what you make it)
black splatters - Dr. Martin's Black Star India Ink

so fab

Tonight is a card making marathon for me
since we're getting snow & really cold temps, I have nothing else to do
a real tragedy, I tell ya ;-)

I started flipping thru my favorite challenge sites & found this great challenge from
I found it interesting so I had to play along!

here's my creation

the colored part is Gelatos in Metallic Mint
which I sprayed with water until it dripped
once the Gelatos were dry, I stamped this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co
using StazOn in Black

heart cup whatever

my heart usually is full when I have a full cup of coffee
just sayin'
keep that stuff coming!

Today I'm finally getting to play along with {Spring} Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I only have one coffee cup available to me at this moment
(I have others I just can't get them right now)
so you're seeing this Creative Memories stencil again
The background is acrylic paint which first I applied using a UmWow Studio Mask of hearts
then using the Donna Downey technique of baby wiping it off before it dried,
I "painted" the rest of the card using the wipie
The stamp on the coffee cup is from Unity Stamp Co along with the sentiment
coloring on cup was done using Copic markers

COFFEE LOVE

Yes, I do love my coffee
black
and not hot hot, just that side of warm actually
yes I know I'm weird

I'm playing along with the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The cup is actually a stencil from Creative Memories (really old)
little flower stamp & sentiment are from Unity Stamp Co.
the background is acrylic paint that I applied using a brayer

Big Red

Friday! yay and I took today off for a ME day!
That also means it's time for Unity's Friends with Flair

I used Unity's You Are Important with these beautiful Gelatos colors
and just a bit of Dr. Martin's Black Star India Ink
to create this for our guest room

You are My Sunshine

Fancy Pants Designs & Mountain Plains Crafters has teamed up with this wonderful sketch
(you can find it on the MPC blog)
Using FPD Nautical papers & embellishments
I created this fun 5x7 card
just the perfect size to send a grandma some vacay pics in
(nope we haven't been away but ya never know!)

I added a little bit of twine from The Twinery for those little finishing touches
and a bit of metallic paper to act as a mirror

Unity color combo

Blogging from my phone, always a challenge so I will keep it short!
I used all the colors in the current Unity color combo, inks are all from CloseToMyHeart except black which is Memento
Stamps from KOM Happiness Has No Limit

Edited (from a real computer) to add:
After looking at this more, I really like how it turned out! Feels like a beach on the river.
How I did it:
smear the inks directly from the ink pads sideways on the paper, smear with a damp paper towel to bend a little bit. Apply a nice coat of Glossy Gel Medium and while it's still wet, stamp grass into it. Allow to completely dry then stamp sentiment & the dragonflies.
