a Dozen Loves

What would you do while being the second adult at your child's two hour Praise Band practice?  Well, here's what I did yesterday.... once we finally arrived home from church then shopping, I sat at my craft desk and cut all the pieces & parts for a Dozen cards, gathered them up along with my handy ATG and took it all with me. They just happen to have this large coffee table setup right in front of the sofa! I got them almost completely finished, just needed a heart punch & a pair of scissors to snip the twine.

I used Operation Write Home Sketch #191 combined with the latest request for more Love or Valentine's Day cards

have Courage to Dream

just a quickie post here as I'm working on heading out of town today to spend the weekend with two of my best friends in the whole wide world... Tricia & Meg!  Tricia & I have been friends since meeting at church when we were 12 years old and thru all the years of bad and good, we're still quiet the team :-)  Meg & I met via facebook.... yes she sent me a friend request because A. I'm a scrapper & B. we live in the same tiny town... now we serve together helping the High School Band leader with all the special events for the Band kiddos in fundraisers along with general stuff like concerts!

My card is for Unity Friends with Flair using Operation Write Home's weekly card sketch

All stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  The rest of the supplies you can just guess at this week or if you REALLY want to know, leave me a comment & I'll get back with ya on that ;-)

Plant, Grow, Harvest

This weekend went by in a flash!  Friday evening I had all these pieces cut out & edges distressed before I went to bed. Saturday morning I was up stamping & embossing when I saw a facebook post that a friend about 2 hours way was having a gathering at her house in just over 2 hours, I threw on some clothes & made a mad dash up there... it was such a great day, I ended up staying well into the night but eventually found my way home.  Sunday morning brought Church, lunch & me putting the finishing touches on these cards... everything except the photo before it was time to head back to Church for my son's Praise Band & Youth service.  ahhh the life of a mom ;-)

dream.

I dream of reading.  I love to read. So making a tag is kinda a no-brainer, which for me is good because today I've got the dumb.

Annabelle Stamps Blog has Challenge AC171 of Splash it On!  I thought "let's make a tag", well ok, hummm... a while back I bought these HUGE Unity Floral Stamps Mega Blooms, and really I'm still not sure why except that I really like them.  EDIT: well I went to linky this up & realized that Annabelle only lets you use their stamps now which I don't have, so we'll just call this one a "Just for Fun Tag" ;-)

Blooms were stamped with VersaMark then embossed using Zing in Purple

Next I used UmWow Studio's Circle Mask and filled some small holes with Coarse Texture Gel, once dry I sponged over with Tim Holtz Pickled Raspberry & Seedless Preserves; then I mostly filled in the petals with Tim Holtz Dusty Concord.  After that I smacked the flower centers with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Picket Fence.

Between, above & below the flowers I sponged Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint & Forest Moss plus I did a little hand drawing with Smooch in Green Apple and applied just a touch of Kiwi in the center of the leaves.

Using Glue Dots I applied the UmWowStudio Chipboard Layered Circles, then filled the three hollow onoes with different shades of Stickles... Waterfall, Starry Night & Purple. While all that started drying, I stamped "Dream." from Unity Stamp Co.'s Make Your Mark set with VersaMark and embossed in Zing White.

Last I tied on a beautiful Velvet ribbon.

Teddy Bear, I love you

this image just melts the heart... if I'd had a daughter, I'd hope she would be just like this with her teddy... but I had two boys, with lots of elephants, horses, and yes even a teddy or two but neither had a great love affair with a stuffed teddy like this little girl does.

Today is Friday!  which means Friends with Flair from Unity Stamp Co., go make something using Unity Stamps and upload it to their blog today!

well I'm feeling just too lazy to look up all the different printed papers I used today

OWH Weekly Card Sketch

well, I'm WAY behind now... we went to visit my Dad today, had some lunch then the guys all wanted to go shooting while my step-mom & I stayed behind to visit in the nice cool air instead of baking in the high humidity & heat.  Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to accomplish more than I did today.  Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party's next challenge is simply OWH's regular weekly sketch, and you all know how I loves me some sketches!

so this challenge was actually posted last night, but it wasn't in me at the time to do it.  Once up this morning I had planned on jumping ahead to the next challenge (a sketch) but I finally had something pop in my head for this one. Donna Inks brought us not only the inky challenge but a tutorial on how to do it... you need masking tape to do this one, but someone you know (yep that's me) has this cute son who has a tape fetish.... seriously there is tape everywhere in his room!  I had to use Washi Tape instead of masking tape but it does look kinda cool.
