Christmas is overwhelming

it really is. I feel like I'm being pulled in too many different directions. Tonight is Van's UACC concert (yes, on a Monday) and I really hate doing stuff during the week as it completely screws up the schedule. On the 16th is Ike's Christmas program at school & on the 18th is Van's. School is being closed early two days before the Christmas vacation (talk about frustrating!!!), so I had to talk to the boss about what to do with my boys... he's nice enough to let me off early those two days. Next comes Christmas break, my in-laws are awesome and are going to take the boys from Sunday night until we come for Christmas Eve dinner at their house. The off to my mom's house for Christmas morning breakfast, a dash to our house for lunch (it's on the way) and down to my adpoted dad's place for Christmas dinner & stay until Sunday. Then we're home for a few days, next onto my real dad's house on New Years Eve and bring in the New Year with them. Finally I scheduled a little "TGI over" party at our house to play the wii and have some casual drinks with friends - nothing fancy, more about relaxing. Then I'll have Monday the 5th off with the boys and on Tuesday, it's back to normal (uuuu... whatever that is).

Ima whiner! Pass the cheese...

Gearing up for holiday

This year Thanksgiving is at our house. As you know, there are 4 of us... 2 boys, dh & myself. Along for the holiday this year are the following: dh's parents & his brother who lives with them; my mom, her step-son & his 3 daughters (oldest is 8); my adoptive dad, his wife & my older brother; my real dad, his wife, my younger brother & his daughter. That makes 19 of us this year. The bonus room is ready for game playing - pool table, dart board, tv, and board games - room is neat & clean.... wait a minute! Ya'll remember that this is also my scrap&stamp room...eek! It's all gone into hiking and (hopefully) safe from little hands. I've folded up the 8' tables & leaned them again the front of the storage bins for my s&s stuff, then hung a heavy green material over everything, using uphosltry tacks to attach it to the ceiling - it's all "out of sight/out of mind" right now!

On Friday, we're making new shelving! WAHOO!! I designed it and will post pictures when it's complete & in place.... until then here's the basic idea. The wall it has to go on is only about 40" tall since it's the "attic" over the garage. The unit will be 15" cubes (similar to the ones from Ikea); only 2 cubes tall, but 6 long... giving me 12 cubes that my paper racks will slide neatly into! Can't wait to show it off....

Draco Malfoy?

no, that's my youngest son, Ike!

Christmas Present - Mom

These were made from the same paperpack, but I had to use the flash to take the photos so they look a little different. Used CTMH Stamp sets, CM paper pack, CTMH card bases & envelopes, CTMH accessories.

Christmas Present - Becky

Had to use the flash to take the pictures, so the storage box on the right is a little washed out, but the were made from the same paperpack. Most materials from CTMH except green buttons & ribbon and CM letters (BECKY).

Christmas Gift - Teacher

It really was the same paperpack, but I had to use the flash to take the photo so the storage box got a little washed out. Most material from CTMH except letters from CM (spelling BETH), orange and white ribbon on cards & brass brads (don't know where I got those).

Halloween at Petit Jean State Park

This year instead of trick-or-treating, our family went camping at Petit Jean State Park... we had a great time with our family friends, the Ames family!

My oldest son won the Spookiest Sound contest at the little Halloween celebration the park put on. We hear about haunted places in Arkansas.

The little monkey climbing on the overlook. The fall colors were wonderful!

CTMH 6x6 Accordian Album COMPLETE!

This is CTMH 6"x6" Accordian album. Interior papers are from CTMH, but I'm at work right now & can't remember the name of the paper pack I used, ribbon is from CTMH (chocoalte grossgrain), stickers & embellys from various sources.
I made this little album for a going away present for one of my bosses.
All of the guys who signed the back of it really liked it, so I'm sure my old boss will like it as well. I think it turned out great & am really proud of it - take a look~!Front

I didn't take a picture of the back where everyone signed as the messages are personal, but opposite the two middle sections is the message area.

Stamp Storage Solution

Ok, so I stole this idea from something I saw on the internet, but it's a GREAT idea! I reduced my storage space down to 1/4 of what it was, now I can get more stuff! lol
The ones on the bottom are the empties that I get to fill (I still have a few more on the wood to get into the cases)
And the is what the fronts look like. I tried to write on the cases not only the set name, but company they came from. The one on the left is from The Angel Company (T.A.C.) and the one on the right is from Stampin' Up (it's one of my favorites). I got the cases & case holders (white rectangles) from Office Max.

Welcome to JeepMama-Ar's blogspot!

Welcome!

Why am I JeepMama-Ar? Because I love my 2000 Jeep Wrangler, love my kids and I live in Arkansas. Here's one of my babies:

Why did I create my blogspot? So I'll have a place to show off some scrapbooking pages & homemade cards that I make. Here's a small part of my creative space:

Why do I scrapbook? To have a place to keep my photos for my children & family. They get to look back and remember all those things we've experience together: vacations, daily events, activities they no longer particiate in but had a good time while it lasted, family and friends no longer with us physically but in our hearts. Things like this:

I'll be posting more as soon as I have time to work on this again! Thanks for visiting!
